Your Body Story is a Pathway to Healing

It's not a path you have to walk alone.

Your Story Matters.

Explore your Body Story and

experience the power of

storytelling as resistance.

Exploring, writing, and sharing our queer, trans, fat Black, Brown, disabled body stories allows us to know the truest stories about ourselves–a truth powerful enough to change us and the world.

your story deserves to be known and witnessed

What's a Queer Body Story?

It is not the story of how you learned to control or conquer your body. It's definitely not the lies and propaganda being spread by the current administration. It’s our real, living experience. The story we’ve been told that no one wants to know.

It’s the story of how we’ve lived.

How we’ve loved.

How and what we’ve survived.

How, despite the world’s daily attempts to destroy us, we’ve discovered and held tightly to the truth of our queerness.

How we’ve become and are becoming fully alive.

We need queer, trans, fat, Black, Brown, disabled body stories.  The real truths of our lives, the things that the world has tried to shut down–these are the things that bring us together.  These truths show us how to build a world where we matter, belong, breathe, are free. When we uncover our body stories in community, we build toward that freedom.

what this looks like

In Community

Each week, we’ll gather as a community engaged in a core Body Trust® practice: writing and sharing our body stories.

Each session includes:

  • Centering and Intention-Setting
  • Connecting Queer Body Stories with Body Trust® practice
  • Creative activities to explore and write your Queer Body Story
  • Opportunities to share and witness in small groups
  • Reflection and connection

Together

Connection & Community

The world tries to disconnect queer people from our knowing and from each other. Create rooted, connected community ready to share, expand movements, and build a new world.

you can trust what you know

Uncover the moments where we have known our own truths, even when every force of social oppression has tried to keep our stories hidden.

building a practice

Steady practices ground us. Here, our unique magic surfaces as we learn new skills, moving toward pleasure and freedom.

What is a Body Story?

Your Body Story is exactly what it sounds like--the truth of what it is and has been like to live and exist in this world in your body.

What is Body Trust®?

Body Trust®is a  strengths-based, trauma-informed, scientifically grounded healing modality that encourages movement toward a compassionate, weight-inclusive model of radical self-care to address body oppression, heal body shame and associated patterns of chronic dieting and disordered eating..

You can learn more here.

Do I Actually Belong Here?

If you're a queer or questioning person with a body, you belong here. Even if you're not sure about body liberation, divesting from dieting, or making a change.  If you're curious about these ideas, there's a place for you here.
This workshop isn't therapy, but it can be a deeply transformative experience.

Who is facilitating this community?

Christina Borel (they/them) is a queer non-binary Certified Body Trust® Provider and a licensed clinical social worker. They love building spaces where folx can experiment with sharing more of their truest selves and move toward building a world where all bodies have what they need.
