queer provider body stories
are a pathway to healing
Your Story Matters.
Explore your Body Story and
experience the power of
storytelling as resistance.
Exploring, writing, and sharing our queer, trans, fat Black, Brown, disabled body stories allows us to know the truest stories about ourselves–a truth powerful enough to change us and the world.
your story deserves to be known and witnessed
The fact that you found your way here tells me something about you.
Maybe a part of you knows that your own story matters.
You know that the particular way you've learned to live in your queer, trans, non-binary body has shaped you in ways you're still discovering.
You're curious about what it means to bring that full, complicated, messy human self into the room with your clients.
And you're willing to make space for that exploration.
That isn't a small thing.
You came to this work for a reason.
Maybe you know how it is to move through the world in a body that has been questioned, policed, or misread, by strangers, by systems, and sometimes by the very communities that are supposed to hold you.
Maybe you know what it means to sit across from a client and feel the weight of your own unexamined story in the room.
Or to have a client’s experience unearth a piece of truth in your own body.
Maybe you've been doing your own healing work — your own slow, necessary reckoning with your body and your queerness — and you're ready to understand how that lives in your practice.
Your queer body story is not separate from your clinical work. It's already in the room.
This workshop is for you.
A Dedicated Space for Providers Exploring Our Queer Body Stories
Queering Your Body Story for Providers is a full-day experiential training grounded in the Body Trust® framework, developed by Hilary Kinavey and Dana Sturtevant. It creates a dedicated container for queer and trans helping professionals to explore their own queer body stories — understanding how those stories, shaped by anti-fat bias, weight stigma, and cisheteronormative culture, show up in helping relationships.
This isn’t about curriculum. It’s about you.
This is not a certification training. It is an invitation to go deeper into your own embodied experience, develop fierce self-compassion for your own human complexity, and understand how your healing can become bigger than you.
Together
Connection & Community
The world tries to disconnect queer people from our knowing and from each other. Create rooted, connected community ready to share, expand movements, and re-build the world.
you can trust what you know
We'll uncover the moments where we have known our own truths, even when every force of social oppression has tried to keep our stories hidden.
building a practice
Steady practices ground us. Here, our unique magic surfaces as we learn new skills, moving toward pleasure and freedom.

How We'll Work Together
This training is experiential at its core. Our time together will include didactic presentation, reading, individual reflective writing, small group reflection, large and small group discussion, witnessing practice, somatic centering, and a grief ritual.
Affinity spaces will be available during witnessing practice for trans, BIPOC, fat, neurodiverse, disabled, and other folx.
Who This Is For
This training is designed for queer helpers and providers of all kinds. If you are a queer person with a body who helps other queer folx, there is a space for you here.
Our definition of provider is broad and includes therapists, coaches, body workers, artists, administrators, teachers, consultants, activists, performers, doulas, dietitians, healthcare professionals, fitness professionals, Certified Body Trust Providers and Specialists, and other queer folx who help other queer folx.
Originally developed for licensed clinical social workers, therapists, counselors, and other mental health practitioners, this training is particularly beneficial for therapists who identify as queer and/or trans and are ready to explore how their own body story shapes their clinical presence.

about your facilitator
Hi! I'm Christina
Christina Borel (they/them) is a queer, non-binary, neurodivergent Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Certified Body Trust® Provider, and the founder of Kaleidoscope Growth, LLC.
Christina has spent almost twenty years working at the intersection of trauma, embodiment, queer and trans affirmative care, and social justice-- as a clinician, educator, and community organizer. They have taught graduate social work at Simmons University and the University of Southern California, and have held clinical leadership roles supporting some of the most vulnerable young people and families in their communities in Connecticut, Massachusetts, and California.
Their work is grounded in the belief that our bodies hold truth — and that the stories we carry about our bodies, our queerness, and our place in the world are not separate from our clinical work. They are already in the room.
Christina developed Queering Your Body Story for Providers out of their own experience of doing this work — the slow, necessary reckoning with their own queer body story, and the recognition that queer and trans clinicians deserve dedicated space to explore how that story lives in their practice.
They bring their fully human, queerly embodied self to every space they create.
Tell me more….
What is a Body Story?
Your Body Story is exactly what it sounds like--the truth of what it is and has been like to live and exist in this world in your body.
What is Body Trust®?
Body Trust®is a strengths-based, trauma-informed, scientifically grounded healing modality that encourages movement toward a compassionate, weight-inclusive model of radical self-care to address body oppression, heal body shame and associated patterns of chronic dieting and disordered eating. Body Trust® was developed by Hilary Kinavey, LPC, and Dana Sturtevant, RD.
You can learn more here.
Do I Actually Belong Here?
If you're a queer or questioning clinician or helping professional with a body, you belong here.. You don't have to prove that you belongor that you're “queer enough”. You also don't have to be a therapist to be part of this workshop. You don't have to be sure about body liberation, divesting from dieting, or making a change. If you're curious about these ideas, there's a place for you here.
Who is facilitating this workshop?
Christina Borel (they/them) is a queer non-binary Certified Body Trust® Provider and a licensed clinical social worker. They love building spaces where folx can experiment with sharing more of their truest selves and move toward building a world where all bodies have what they need.

Consultation for Liberation
Continue the work
Deepen your praxis
One individual consultation session with Christina — a dedicated space to bring the questions, reckonings, and insights that surface from the training into your ongoing practice.
This isn't supervision in the traditional sense. It's something more mutual, more honest, and more attuned to your complexity as a whole person. Consultation rooted in the lineages of Black and Brown intersectional feminisms, queer theory, disability justice, healing justice, abolitionist movements, and body liberation.
Not consultation that asks you to work better within the existing system. Consultation oriented toward surviving that system while visioning and building something new.
